Glow
The Intersection Of Art + Technique
GLOW Open Studio Sessions offer an innovative approach to professional development for the experienced stylist. We spend one day on a singular artistic concept and explore it through multi-media art making and experimental cut crafting on one or more mannequins.
The GLOW Experience
GLOW Open Studio Sessions bridge the gap between salon practice and intensive educational experiences. Each gathering provides a supportive space to be beginner again in another art from like painting, collage, printmaking, photography, and/or sculpture. Then we’ll translate our findings into developing new ways to see and execute the session cutting topic.
Each GLOW session unfolds as a unique creative experience shaped by both demonstrations and the participants present. Unlike traditional classes that follow rigid curricula, GLOW embraces a responsive model where you actively shape the focus of each session, honoring the collective expertise in the room.
Multi-Disciplinary Learning: Art & Hair
Participants are invited to bring mannequins with diverse curl formations, from bone straight to tight curly, to work alongside the demonstrations. This hands-on component allows for immediate application and experimentation with the techniques being shared, transforming abstract concepts into tangible skills.
The diversity of mannequin textures creates opportunities to adapt techniques across diverse hair, expanding your versatility and confidence. As you work, the collaborative environment encourages questions, adjustments, and discoveries that deepen your understanding and expand your creative repertoire
The connections you discover between your artwork and your hair design often reveal new approaches and insights that wouldn't emerge through traditional training methods. This cross-pollination between artistic mediums creates a revolutionary learning environment that expands both your technical skill and creative vision
Designed for the Visionary Stylist
GLOW nurtures the art & design awareness essential to exceptional hair design. The studio atmosphere encourages you to view your craft through a creative lens, considering how shape, texture, and movement contribute to a cohesive artistic vision. This integration of technical precision with artistic expression empowers you to develop signature approaches that set your work apart.
KIND WORDS:
Aeleise was very patient and explained the why and how of what she was teaching. This class has now re-shaped my thinking on how to approach taper cuts. I very much enjoyed the class and am happy with what I was able to learn and takeaway.
