What is an Amplified Curl Cut?

The Amplified Curl Cut is inspired by the Curly Girl philosophy made popular by DevaCurl founder Lorraine Massey.  I am a Deva Advanced Stylist and member of/educator for Curly Hair Artistry.  The Amplified Curl Cut incorporates a curl by curl and curl grouping cutting method done on dry defined curls with specialized detox, hydration, and styling methods that address challenges unique to 3b-4c curly, coily and kinky hair.

I ask that you arrive with a fully dry wash & go style because the primary cut is performed first on your styling. The hair then goes through the Curl Rehab Bootcamp to detox from plastic/petrolatum/shea/oil buildup and rebuild hydration into the hair. A refining cut and styling lesson happens once you're fully dry.

Is my hair ready for an Amplified Curl Cut?

If you have waves, curls, kinks, or coils you need an Amplified Curl Cut! This cut is intended for hair that is fully natural that you intend to wear curly 90-100% of the time.  It is also for those seeking a big chop (freedom) of their relaxed/heat damaged strands.

An Amplified Curl Cut IS NOT for you if you are unsure about wearing your hair in its textured state, you regularly get your hair straightened, or you're current;y rocking a fly barber cut.  In these instances I may be able to refer you to another stylist more suited to your needs.

How should I wear my hair to my appointment?

Amplified Curl Cut Appointments

Please arrive with the the hair in a defined Wash and Go Style.

DO NOT

Pull hair back with clips, rubber bands, head bands, hats, or any other item

Do not use Shea and Oil based products. Usage of Shea Moisture, Cantu, or similar brands will be subject to an upncharge.

Arriving with hair in any other state beyond what is indicated here will have a $60 Hydrate and Define service added to their service charge.

Preparation for all other services

Please arrive with hair that is completely unbraided/untwisted that has been cleansed, conditioned and detangled within the last 10 days and has minimal oil + product residue. Excessive detoxing & detangling will incur an additional fee of $45 per 30 minutes.

Preparing for your first appointment . . .

Gather your short and long-term hair goals, any style/color/cut inspiration photos, and your bathroom sink if you like, and bring them to your appointment.

The posted times are only guidelines for average service times. My prices are starting prices. Please be aware your appointment time and pricing may vary based the hair desires we will be addressing during your visit.  I will advise you of estimated pricing during the Hair Lifestyle Consultation.

Bridal styling requires a consultation at least 30 days prior to wedding day. Hair color services are only performed on current clientele.

Do you work with 4 a/b/c hair?

I do not follow any curl pattern hair classification systems. I are more concerned with your density, porosity, elasticity, hydration level,  future goals, etc.  I have experience with hair that ranges from the finest, straightest, baby blonde hair to the tightest, coarsest, kinkiest hair.  Yes I work with your unique head of hair.

Will you pressure me into a Big Chop?

No.  But we will encourage you to release your relaxed ends and dive headfirst into being natural.

If I bring my own products will you use them?

No.  I am a licensed professional natural hair expert and I use products that meet my exacting standards for hydration, strength, and styling effect.  While I respect your home care routine, I will use my professional judgement to select products that will provide excellent results for your hair.  I may make exceptions for extenuating circumstances, but I reserve the right to refuse.

Can I lessen my cost by cleansing and conditioning my own hair?

I follow a service cycle that includes a consultation, cleansing/conditioning/treatment, styling, and recommendations for home care.  My professional standards do not allow me to shortchange my clients from the service they deserve.

What products do you recommend for my hair?

I reserve product recommendations till I have seen and felt your unique head of natural hair.  

 

Policies

Appointments

Curl sessions are by appointment only. Please click on the tab for your city to book an appointment. If the time/day you are looking for is not available, it doesnt exist.  I'm either not working at that time or it has been booked already.  Calling, emailing, and texting will get you the same answer and possibly an earfull of screams from a very loud little baby girl.

I cannot guarantee appointments for late arrivals.

The credit card on file is only charged if you no call/no show your appointment.

Payment Methods

I accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover along with CashApp and Chase Quickpay. Sorry, unless you are family I do not accept checks.

Cancellation Policy

I've reserved your appointment time just for you. Unlike other stylists, I DO NOT double book.  Should you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, I kindly ask for 48-hours notice so that I can schedule another guest in order to stay booked..  If you need to cancel up to 48 hours before your appointment please look for the link in your confirmation email to cancel your appointment without penalty.

If your cancellation is within 48 hours of your appointment time please email hairloveart@gmail.com.  Be aware that any cancellation within 48 hours is subject to a fee equivalent to 50% of your scheduled service price that will be immediately charged to the credit card on file.  Aeleise will not be responsible for cancellations that are called in, text in, sent to the wrong email, or not sent in accordance to this policy.

Clients who do not show up to their appointment without notification or those canceling within 4 hours of any appointment will be charged  100% of their appointment price immediately to the credit card on file.  Thank you for your understanding.

Appointment Confirmations + Reminders

To help you not forget your special time with me,  I have several options to assist you. If your cell phone number is listed in Square the service will automatically send you an email + text reminder 72 hours in advance of your appointment. Not getting reminders? Please let me know.

When you schedule your appointment a confirmation email is generated by our system and sent to the email address on file.  Please check your spam box if you do not receive this confirmation.  Add us to your list of contacts in order to receive all email appointment notifications.

Late Policy

Should you be running late, I will hold your appointment for 15 minutes provided I hear from you. If you are more than 15 minutes late without notice you will be charged and asked to reschedule.  I book appointments one at a time and with pinpoint accuracy.  It is not fair for me, you, or the client after you for the schedule to be thrown off.

Promotional Gift Certificates

I am often asked for donations and am happy to help when I can. These gift certificates are only valid for the services listed on the gift certificate. These gift certificates do expire and upon expiration become valid for the face value of the certificate for up to 5 years (please dont bring me a 5yo gift certificate, I will judge you).

Service Guarantee

I take pride in all of the services I provide. If the service that was agreed upon in the consultation was not technically executed to your standards (including but not limited to frizzy, loose, uneven, etc.)  please inform me at the time of your appointment. If you are uncomfortable doing so face to face, please send an email to hairloveart@gmail.com within 24 hours.  An appointment will be set within 7 days for a restyle.  Notifications after 24 hours are not eligible for complementary restyles.  No refunds will be given on any services.

Although I stand behind my guarantee 100%, it does not apply if after service has been rendered to your specifications you feel as though another style category would have suited you better.  Please understand I cannot offer a complementary or discounted service in these circumstances.  I also do not just add on to styles and to previous pricing.  Each style is crafted in an integrated manner from beginning to end.  To experience a different service you are invited to schedule that service in its entirety.  Thank you for understanding.

Children

Children under 16 are not permitted in the studio space.
