About
Hairstylist by trade, artist by heart.
As a former modern + lyrical dancer and a current middle aged millennial mom, my body has been at the center of challenge and radical change. My artwork illustrates the duality + sensuality of black womanhood. From abstract acrylic works on canvas to eclectic collage prints I explore what it means to experience, survive, and thrive as a black, queer, female body in a world that simultaneously worships & reviles its existence.
Art Process + Important Info
-
All prints are giclee quality, printed by a small business fine art printer who uses archival quality inkjet printers, museum quality paper media, and archival pigment inks. This combination gives you the highest quality fine art printing available.
For most prints, I use William Turner by Hahnemuehle. William Turner is a traditional mould-made watercolor paper that features a distinct, highly textured surface. The white cotton fiber paper does not contain any optical brighteners and has a uniquely toothy feel and surface texture.

When you receive your package open carefully as to not cut or rip your artwork. Remove the print from the cellophane and examine for any issues. Please frame immediately or return to packaging to retain print quality. Once framed please do not hang in direct sunlight as this will ruin the archival quality of the print.

Some prints have a cap of 50 units. These may be a mix of sizes or all of the standard 12” x “16 size depending on demand. Once the 50 unit threshold has been meteor those prints the piece will no longer be available and there will not be another run.

My printer of choice prints using some of the latest inkjet technology; the Epson SureColor P9000 and the new Epson SureColor P9570. These printers use UltraChrome HDX Ink (11-color) and UltraChrome PRO12 Ink (12-color), allowing them to reproduce an incredibly wide range of colors. I
In addition to the colors they can reproduce, they only use high-quality media produced by leading paper manufacturers. This combination of equipment and materials gives all of our prints incredibly vivid colors and extremely high lightfastness.
